About Tracy Slusser

Who's coaching the coach?

Why this work

I started this work because I kept asking the same question: where do coaches go to move from good to great? The resources exist for athletes. The support exists for teams. But the person leading all of it? That gap was real — and I built this to fill it.

My experience

For more than 20 years, I lived the reality of high-performance athletics — first as a Division I athlete at Purdue, and then for 17 years as a coach at the highest levels of collegiate and international swimming.

During that time, I coached three NCAA championship teams, served as a U.S. National Team coach, and had the privilege of working with Olympic medalists and some of the best athletes in the world.

What shaped my perspective

While those experiences brought immense pride and joy, they also exposed me to the hidden weight of leadership — the pressure, responsibility, and emotional demands that often go unseen.

Coaches are some of the most selfless leaders I know — pouring energy, care, and attention into their athletes — yet rarely does anyone pour into them. That perspective now drives everything — because the person behind the title deserves the same investment they give to everyone else.

My approach

My coaching approach blends lived experience with rigorous training.

I completed the Executive Program in Women’s Leadership at Stanford Graduate School of Business, earned my Leadership & Performance Coaching Certification through Brown University and ACT Leadership, and hold an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential with the International Coaching Federation.

I continue to pursue advanced education and professional development because I believe great coaches never stop learning.

Who I work with

I work with collegiate and elite club coaches — the people leading at the highest levels, carrying the most responsibility, and often receiving the least personal development support.

What makes this work different

What makes my work unique is that I’ve stood where my clients stand.

I understand both the exhilaration of achievement and the complexity of leadership behind the scenes. I’ve invested deeply in my own growth so I can offer leaders not just empathy, but perspective, tools, and a space to pause, reflect, and lead with greater clarity, resilience, and authenticity.

Closing

This is where coaches come to grow — not just as coaches, but as the person behind the title.
